I am twenty two years old. My mother died when I was nineteen. The last two and a half years of my life have been insane. I started and ended my first serious relationship. I went from homeless, to running a small household, to homeless again. I took care of my friends because no one would take care of me. I went to China and attempted to drown my pain in strenous acrobatics training. I drove cross country in hopes I could drive faster than my pain. I tore down houses in New Orleans. I did I alot of things that would have been really fun had I not been such a wreck. I spent $20,000 (out of the money that my mother-in her infinite wisdom- left in life insurance). Not on anything extravagant. Just on living. In Florida, I found some peace. Now I am going back to school. But I feel so infinitely older than the other students that will be there. And it will be strange going there out of choice. Knowing that no one really has any authority over me. That it is up to me entirely to create my life. At least now I know I have family to turn to. Not really in case something goes wrong, just so that I feel free to take the risks that are required for greatness. Previously emilytravel.
